Text Box: Q3: Some people say that one who has just converted into Islam is not only forgiven of all his past sins but all his bad deeds in the past are recorded as good deeds according to Quran 25:70, “Except those who repent and come to believe and do the right, for whom God will turn evil into goodness, for God is forgiving and kind.” How true is it? 有些人說，初入教者，不僅過去所有罪過都獲得赦免，並且以往所有惡事都轉變成善功，他們說這是根據古蘭經第25章第70節：「惟悔過而且信道並行善功者，真主將勾銷其罪行，而錄取其善功。真主是至赦的，是至慈的。」此說法是否真確？ A: One who has just converted into Islam is forgiven of all his past sins related to Allah, such as drinking alcohol, eating pork, gambling, committing adultery, not praying, etc. This kind of sins is not related to other people, so it will be forgiven by Allah but not recorded as good deeds after the conversion. However, any sins related to other people shall be solved by himself, such as stealing, hurting others, etc. Those sins shall neither be deleted nor be recorded as good deeds just because the doer has converted to Islam and repented. 初入教者，過去與阿拉之間的所有罪過都獲得赦免，例如飲酒、吃豬肉、賭博、通姦、沒有禮拜等，這些與他人無關的惡事只會因入教且懺悔而得到阿拉饒恕，不會變成善功。至於人與人之間的罪過，例如偷盜、傷害他人等，仍須自己尋求解決，絕不會因為入教且懺悔就與他人一筆勾消或被記錄成善功。 The real meaning of this verse is that Allah will help a new converter who has a sincere heart to be away from sins. For example, if the new converter feels like going to a night club, he will not be able to find any night club to get in. If he feels like having fun with a prostitute, he will not be able to find one. That is to say, Allah will close all the doors that may lead the new converter to commit sins if he has a sincere heart. 這段經文真正的意思是，真心誠意入教者，阿拉會幫助他遠離罪惡，例如他想去夜店，但夜店卻關門，他想嫖妓，卻找不到妓女，亦即，有著誠心敬意的入教者，阿拉會關閉所有引導他犯罪的門。 The other interpretation of this verse is, Allah will change all his evil desires into righteous desires. For example, his desire of drinking alcohol will be changed into reading Quran; his desire of listening to sexy music will be changed into listening to Quran recitation. 這則經文另一解釋是，阿拉會將他原有的偏邪慾望轉變成正直慾望，例如他想喝酒的慾望，變成想讀古蘭經的慾望；想聽引人遐想之情愛歌曲的慾望，變成想聽古蘭經吟誦的慾望等。 Otherwise, according to the interpretation of those people about this verse, it is very unfair for those such as born Muslims who have practiced Islam and been away from sins for decades if a new converter is immediately raised up to a much higher level than them while he had enjoyed his life with all kinds of sins for decades and is forgiven all his sins and has them all recorded as good deeds. 否則，照那些人對這段經文的解釋，對於出生就是穆斯林、努力實踐伊斯蘭且遠離罪惡的人而言，是非常不公平的，因為那位初入教者，在幾十年縱慾玩樂的人生後，只要入教就遠比幾十年不斷實踐伊斯蘭的穆斯林高出許多等級，不但以往所有罪過都獲得赦免還被記錄成善功，這是非常不公平的。
